Photo Galleries
Photo Galleries is one of the most popular software
on the web and for different kinds of usage. We support the most usable
and popular photo gallery software's; from small galleries when you want
to show some pictures on your web site to big galleries where you can
print and sell pictures.
It can be a daunting task to pick the software that fits you but you have
to start with to decide what you are going to use the gallery to. Then
collect information about the software and check available demos and
live web sites.
Some galleries have support for plugins and skins/themes which extends
the functions and give you different style options. We will soon launch
a theme gallery so it will be easier to choose the theme that is right
for you.
NOTE: Demos of the software below will soon
be ready on our demo site.

Gallery 1
Gallery is very interesting photo gallery software
that has split into two different galleries, Gallery 1 and Gallery 2.
Gallery 1 (or G1) is the original photo hosting product, suitable for
small to medium-sized photo collections. You can manage your photos on
your web site, create and maintain albums of photos via an intuitive
interface.
G1 store the "metadata" (comments, titles, descriptions, keywords, etc)
in files. Storing the metadata in a file is much simpler and thus can
be faster for smaller galleries. It also has fewer resource requirements,
so will run better on lower end or older servers. Of course, it also has
drawbacks. As G1 grows, it will use up more and more memory (ram) to do
certain operations. With average usage, G1 starts to top out at around
5,000 images.
G1 can easily be integrated into your web site or even your content
management system. G1 has been around for a while and it is many
skins/themes around and G1 supports many languages.

Gallery 2
Gallery 2 (G2) is the next generation of Open Source
photo sharing web applications. Gallery gives you an intuitive way to blend
photo management seamlessly into your own website whether you're running
a small personal site or a large community site. Features include:
easy to create photo galleries, user/photo administration and editing,
comprehensive permissions system, extensible modular design, fully
themeable and much more.
G2 is the best choice if your gallery is going to be large. G2 keeps
the data in a database and the biggest advantage is scalability;
G2 should be able to keep five, ten, one hundred or even a million
images with very little performance difference between them.
There is a site that hosts over 900,000 images (and probably
has 5,000+ users). However, being database driven has a drawback
though. A file based system may take 0.1 seconds to open up a
10 image album, but a database system which is fixed at 0.5 seconds
for *any* album is still slower for 10 images. Of course, it might
take that file based system 10 seconds to load an album with 1,000
images and it would just crash and die trying to load 10,000 images.

singapore
singapore is an Open Source, multilingual,
template-driven image gallery web application. What makes singapore
different from the hundreds of other similar scripts is that it was
originally conceived for displaying photographic art in an aesthetically
pleasing fashion using a clean, uncluttered interface. Now, though,
its powerful templating system allows you to display your images in p
retty much any way that takes your fancy.
singapore aims to adhere to the KISS philosophy by including only
the features that are actually useful. It does NOT require MySQL or
other database programs since all image information is stored in flat
text CSV files. However if you do have access to MySQL there is a
backend that allows you to use it.
